Employee Consent Information

The Victorian Occupational Health and Safety Regulations 2017 require any employee who is required to have hearing protection to have a Screening Hearing Test.

What is the Screening Hearing Test??

Australian Standard AS/NZS 1269.4:2014 requires all industries producing high noise levels to measure their employees' hearing levels periodically. Excessive noise exposure can cause hearing loss.

This test's purpose is to purely investigate whether an employee's hearing is being affected by their workplace; it is not a diagnostic assessment.

A fully trained screening audiometrist will conduct audiometric testing (Screening Hearing Test) of individual employees.

Once you have taken part in the screening hearing test, your results will be emailed to your personal email address after the fieldwork program has been completed (a few weeks after your test).

Your screening test results will be reported to Melbourne Park People and Culture Team. Once they have received your test results in a summary report, you will be advised if you require a follow-up examination.

All Audiometric Testing and associated reporting are performed following the requirements of the Australian/New Zealand Standard AS/NZS1269.4:2014 Occupational Noise Management, Part 4: Auditory Assessment.

Please email peopleandculture@mopt.gov.au or call (03) 9286-1604 if you have any queries BEFORE the scheduled hearing test date.
